This poll was conducted as our contribution to an exhibition called There Goes The Neighbourhood, which will be on view in Redfern at Performance Space, part of the Carriage Works at 245 Wilson St, Redfern, Sydney, Australia, from Friday, May 22 through June 27, 2009. All of the replies we receive will be posted for people to see.

Temporary Services is a group from the state of Illinois in the USA. Here is documentation from a Public Sculpture Opinion Poll we conducted in 2000 in Chicago. It was undertaken to address the lack of public participation in choosing and placing a sculpture in a diverse and dramatically changing neighborhood where we were all living at the time.

We also participated in a similar opinion poll about surveillance cameras, which were being put up all over the city with a chilling lack of public discussion. This was organized by Temporary Services and the other keyholders of Mess Hall, an experimental cultural center in Chicago we helped co-found.
