Aesthetic Analysis of Human Groupings - Visual research into the myriad ways in which people organize themselves in groups

This is a large wall display (48 ft x 16 ft) consisting of multiple stripes of various media. This display articulates the myriad subtleties and variations of human groupings that we find ourselves slipping in and out of on a perpetual basis. Each stripe on the wall is composed of different media - stripes of t-shirts with images of groups on them, record album covers, photos, wall paper - with images of groups and groupings on them.

Into the Gravy -
We reprinted an essay by Jos, a member and vocalist of the Dutch music group The Ex.

This 1989 essay was originally published in the book Threat by Example which is out of print and will not be reprinted. The essay includes a funny and caustic take on the corporate music industry as well as wonderful reflections on The Ex's group practice and their efforts to build and work in an ethical and independent international network. Jos has written a new introduction to the text and designed all new layout for the booklet. We will also screen the video "Beautiful Frenzy" - a filmed portrait of the group by Christina Hallström and Mandra Wabäck.

Biggest Temporary Gang Ever Newspaper - Publication we made to accompany public projects we realized in a larger group configuration

Biggest Temporary Gang Ever was a collaborative temporary group we formed with Biggest Fags Ever and Ausgang. We have made a giant beer can that unpacks to make a table, grill, and giant balloon inflator. We have also made a 6000 pack of beer and soda cans. In addition, we published a newspaper - cover pictured above.

Group Work - A book investigating group work from the perspectives of groups themselves

Based on a pamphlet published by Temporary Services in 2002 titled Group Work: A Compilation of Quotes About Collaboration from a Variety of Sources and Practices, this publication provides a multitude of perspectives on the theme of Group Work by practitioners of artistic group practice from 1960s to the present. The publication presents interviews with Canadian collective General Idea; Chicago collective Haha; the dutch punk band The Ex; the Vienna-based Wochen Klausur; Croatian curatorial group What, How & for Whom (WHW); Funkadelic album designer Pedro Bell; and Political Art Documentation/Distribution (PAD/D); along with essays on The Abortion Counseling Service of the Chicago Women’s Liberation Union (better known as Jane) and the anarchist Guerilla street theater group The Diggers. A list of words used to describe group practices and a working list of hundreds of collectives from the last four decades rounds out the publication.
